Fossil Fly, Crane Fly and Beetle - Green River Formation, Utah

This is a beautifully preserved .22" fossil Fly (order Diptera), a partial crane fly of the species Pronophlebia redivivia, and a .4" wide beetle (order Coleoptera) from the Green River Formation in Uintah County, Utah.

While this formation is best known for well preserved fossil fish found in Wyoming, other sections of the formation contain a very diverse insect fauna.
