.4" Eocene Fossil Cricket (Orthoptera) - Green River Formation

This is a very nice, .4" long fossil cricket (order Orthoptera) from the Green River Formation of Utah. There appears to be an additional cricket near the opposite edge of the shale, however the preservation makes it difficult to identify. While this formation is best known for well preserved fossil fish found in Wyoming, other sections of the formation contain a very diverse insect fauna.

It comes with an acrylic display stand.
