8.1" Carboniferous Fossil Fern (Odontopteris) Plate - France

This is a fossil seed fern (Odontopteris subcrenulata) from the Late Carboniferous-aged Montceau-les-Mines Lagerstatte of France. This formation is Stephanian Stage in age, or approximately 300 million years old. The longest fern frond measures 5.6" long and they are nicely spread out on a rectangular-cut, 8.1 x 6.15" slab of rock.

Comes with an acrylic display stand. There is a repaired crack through the corner of the rock.
