1.8" Multi-Toned Hollardops Trilobite With Gerastos
This is a stunning, 1.8" long Hollardops trilobite from Morocco, exhibiting beautiful, multi-toned shell coloration. It is naturally associated with a finely preserved Gerastos trilobite, creating an exceptionally aesthetic display. The preparation is outstanding, revealing pristine shell detail and beautifully preserved eye facets in both eyes. Much of the surrounding limestone has been meticulously removed, leaving the trilobites dramatically elevated above their natural matrix.
An elegant, museum-quality display piece with less than 1% restoration, limited to minor gap fill along repaired cracks.

About Trilobites
Trilobites were a very diverse group of extinct marine arthropods. They first appeared in the fossil record in the Early Cambrian (521 million years ago) and went extinct during the Permian mass extinction (250 million years ago). They were one of the most successful of the early animals on our planet: over 25,000 species have been described, filling nearly every evolutionary niche. Due in large part to their hard exoskeletons (shells), they left an excellent fossil record.
