ZLICHOVASPIS & ODONTOCHILE TRILOBITES FOR SALE

Odontochile and Zlichovaspis are closely related genera of trilobites belonging to the family Dalmanitidae within the order Phacopida. These visually striking trilobites are easily recognized by their elongated, oval-shaped bodies and elaborately adorned exoskeletons. Both genera share several distinctive morphological traits, including well-developed genal spines that extend gracefully backward from the cheeks, a broad cephalon (head) with a prominent central glabella, and a thorax composed of many finely articulated segments.

These trilobites lived during the Devonian period, a time when marine life flourished in warm, shallow seas. Specimens of Odontochile and Zlichovaspis are most commonly found in the richly fossiliferous strata of Morocco. They typically range in size from 2 to 5 inches in length, though exceptionally large individuals are occasionally found.

All of the trilobite fossils we sell are authentic and we always disclose any restoration in our descriptions.
